Is (5^k )<1000?

1. (5)^k+1 >3000

2. (5)^k-1 = (5^k)-500


qa is b


question can be rephrased as: is k less than 3?

st.1 says k >4 hence sufficient in my book.

st. 2 gives clear answer so sufficient


what is wrong with statement 1?

You can not assume that K is an integer :)

rephrase should be: is k<4?

1. 5^(k+1)>3000

k>3,

k=3.5 yes
k=4 no

Insufficient.

2. Gives a define value of k, therefore sufficient.


Please correct me if i make a mistake.
