At a fruit stand yesterday, the price of each apple was $0.10 more than the price of each orange.
What was the total revenue from the sale of oranges at the fruit stand yesterday?
(1) The number of oranges sold at the fruit stand
yesterday was 5 more than the number of
apples.
(2) The total revenue from the sale of apples
at the fruit stand yesterday was $15.00

Is the answer E?

Let price of apple be x and qty sold be y. Let qty of orange be a and price of orange be x-.1

We need to find a(x-.1)

Statement (1) says a=x+5. Not sufficient.

Statement (2) says xy+a(x-.1)=15. Not sufficient.

Combining both, we still have two variables to solve for. Not sufficient.

Prasanna, i chose E but the answer turned out to be C. Maybe sth wrong with OA.
