Kaplan CAT Test3 and MGMAT Test scores

by Sue2010 » Sun May 23, 2010 11:04 am
I just took Kaplan Test#3 and scored 610. My MGMAT Test 2, 3 and 4 scores are 630, 640 and 660 (had to abort my first test half way through).

I was really hoping to see a higher score and quite disappointed that I just got 610. Quant was easy compared to any of the MGMAT tests and I got 7 incorrect and in verbal, I had to rush through the final few questions and managed to only get 25 correct answers. Verbal was tough. RC's in particular were way too lengthy.

I have answered more questions correct in this Kaplan test than the 3 MGMAT tests but my Kaplan score is lower than any of the MGMAT scores. It'll be helpful if anyone can shed any light on this. Little disheartened and my GMAT test is couple of weeks away.

It really depends on when those Kaplan CATs were made. If they are the most up to date Kaplan CATs, then the scores are more accurate, but anything prior to 2010 and the scores aren't accurate. They just recently updated their scoring algorithm. I would just average the Manhattan scores and that is the best indication of your current GMAT level. Good luck.

Thanks osirus.. Sorry about the late reply.. With 2 kids running around, it is little difficult to focus at times!

Anyway.. 5 more days to go.. Just finished GMAT Prep test 1.. Scored a 700.. First time, I got a 700 score.. Not too excited about it as I saw few repeat questions (4) and 2 known RC's from the OG!! I really really hope to get a 700 score.. If that happens, someone has to keep me on the ground:)

The Quant is definitely easier than MGMAT but I made 3 careless mistakes! Also, my main stumbling block at the moment are the Essays!! Last 2 tests, I wrote both the essays.. I could barely complete my issue essay this time around and I'm not convinced about the way I articulated the entire issue essay (even my argument).. For the first time, I feel a little nervous about an exam thanks to these essays.. Fairly confident about Quant and Verbal sections. I just hope to get a bare minimum 4.. Hoping that my essays don't pull my morale down for the Quant and Verbal sections!

At this point, planning on writing GMAT Prep 2 tomorrow and after that review all the OG's in hand (Quite a few.. 10th edition, 12th, GMAT Verbal and Quant Review).
