For statement 1,x=2 and y=-1
x^2 is always greater than y^2.So y should be in the limit -1.9<=y=>1.9
So

modx > mod y...

for second stmt....

x>y

let x=2,y=-3 or -1

mody is greater in this case y=-3...

smaller in the case y=-1...

2 is insufficent

A is sufficient...Hope u understand...
