I don't see improvement

I have been practicing the book math problems from the Problem solving section and my score does not increase. Actually, it takes me a lot time to figure out what the task is in order to approach the problem. Any advice? please.!!!

I recommend that you fully immerse yourself in one topic at a time, and stay immersed until you have seen (and attempted) all of the various questions that can be asked involving that topic.

To help you focus on one topic at a time, you can use BTG's tagging feature. For example, here are all of the questions tagged as statistics questions: https://www.beatthegmat.com/forums/tags/ ... statistics
See the left side of that linked page for more tag options.

You should also spend a lot of time reviewing the responses from the Experts on this site. They model the steps one should take when tackling math problems.

Hi kcardozo,

Studying for the GMAT is a big process that takes time. You'll likely get more comfortable (and faster) with GMAT questions as you study more. Can you fill in a few details about what you've done so far:

1) How long have you been studying?
2) Have you taken any practice CAT scores? If so, then how did you do?
3) It sounds like you're using the OG13, but have you used any other practice materials?

Hello kcardozo,
I am not a GMAT expert but from my experience of last 20-25 days I felt that scoring high in GMAT requires more of sharp reading skills for any of the sections. Initially during learning phase take time to read the problem twice or thrice because understanding is the foremost criteria then comes the speed.

The more and more you read, the more you learn and the more you earn (score).
