This SC comes down to a couple of standard grammar rules:

1) Subject-Verb agreement: The subject "fossils" is plural, so the verb must be "...have..." Eliminate B and C.

2) Verb tense: the sentence refers an event that occurred "...more than a million years ago..", so we should use a simple past tense verb (in this case, "beached"). Eliminate D and E.

Final Answer: A
