The gmac has suggested 2 ways to attack the SC:

one of them is to read material that reflects standard usage. Can someone name some materials like magazines, newspapers etc which gmac is referring
to.

is 'the atlantic' the type.

Hello,

While I cannot comment specifically on what GMAC is referring to, I can share the advice I provide to my students.

I do recommend that when you are prepping for the GMAT, you increase the amount of reading that you do overall between now and the test, because the more that you read, the more you improve a) your speed, b) your comprehension, and c) your grammar. (Note: this is even more helpful for non-native English speakers).

In terms of WHAT to read, I suggest 1) doing a lot of GMAT prep reading, such as reading comp practice, 2) reading other sources of a similiar style. Some suggestions include: Wall St Journal and other major newspapers; The Economist (often articles have similiar tone and structure to GMAT blurbs); and things like Scientific American for the science passages.

Good luck!
