I really got a big problem...

At home I scored for gmat tests between the 580 - 600. Today I took the test in Utrecht (the Netherlands), and I had a score of 490. How is this possible? I just wanted to say that I was really anxious and got a black-out, but this is not the first time I took the test. One moth ago I scored 510 but also due a blackout. At home I don't have these black-out. Does someone maybe has tips for these black-outs? They mostly appear in the Quantitive part... And at home I scored 52th percentile for Quantitiave.

I also want to improve my score on the verbal section, because I always have a low score for verbal. Does anyone has some advice what I could practice to improve my score for verbal???

Thank you so much!!!

Hi Amanda,

Can you go into a bit more detail about these 'blackouts'? Are you physically 'blacking out' (losing consciousness) or is it more like you just lose focus and get stuck on individual questions? This might be something that you should see a doctor about.

As far as your practice CAT scores are concerned, I have a few questions:

1) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on these CATs?
2) Do you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
3) How long have you been studying?
4) What materials have you been using?
