Just Beat the GMAT - 720 (49Q 40V)

by jtbrighton » Wed Mar 30, 2011 12:19 pm
Hi All,

Just finished taking the GMAT this morning and thought I'd finally go ahead and contribute to the forum that gave me a lot of motivation during this process. I scored a 720 (49Q 40V) which was in line with my expectations and desires.

My preparation for the test began in late January as I started the MGMAT 9 week course. I pretty much followed the study guide and worked from MGMAT books as well as the OG12.

Practice test scores as follows:
1/9/11 MGMAT CAT 1: 670 (43Q 38V)
2/21/11 MGMAT CAT 2: 680 (44Q 38V)
3/13/11 MGMAT CAT 3: 680 (44Q 38V)
3/20/11 MGMAT CAT 4: 700 (45Q 40V)
3/27/11 GMAT Prep 1: 730 (46Q 42V)
3/30/11 Actual Test: 720 (49Q 40V)

I can say that my work ethic during the process was not incredibly strong, but I was consistent in my studies. As you can tell from my practice CAT scores, don't let slow progression slow you and your efforts down. I'm convinced that latent learning occurs and you should not give up.

Thanks for helping to be a motivating presence!

Congrats! :) Good to see you achieved whatever you were trying to.

I suggest that you post what all materials you used and what was your general preparation plan like.
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)
