In the twelfth century the stained glass window of cathedrals were perceived less as works of art than as chronicles of ordinary lives of the townspeople. Like modern magazines, they related stories of important events, depicted prominet citizens in the community and functioned as a record to preserve events for later generations.
The author of this passage makes her point by
1)comparing something foreign to something more familiar to her readers
2)citing examples to illustrate a desired conclusion
3)stating her opinion and explaining why she holds it
4)expressing as fact something that is merely an opinion
5)reducing art to its function as a means of communication

IMO A.

A correctly specifies the author's comparison of stained glass windows to modern magazines.

C says that the author explained why she holds the opinion. But, the author infact is ot providing any explanation. She is just drawing a comparison. No Statistical/ecientific evidence/proof was mentioned by the author.
