Just now realized i am struggling with RCs

Hi All ,

Just now i have realized that i am struggling with RCs

Struggling in the sense , my hit rate in RC is giving me good pendulum swings !!

In one GMAT prep exam out of 4 RCs i got only 2 wrong

in another exam i got around 4 wrong .

and y'day exam i got all correct for passage 1 and almost 9-10 wrongs in other 3 passages .

i started OG 11 again ( earlier done with half the RCs with around 85% hit rate ) but then again i got all the questions wrong for 2 successive passages ( May b i was not fresh when i staretd those , but still all the questns wrong !! )

Is it common for all to have this much variation when it comes to RCs ??

i hope ...its not

i definitely need a strategy here .

i have been scoring 32-33 in verbal and i know the importance of RCs to score good in verbal .

My exam is in one month . I need to improve verbal to 38-39 (or may b 40 btw the i know my limits :P )

Any advice is much appreciated .

My experience has been that the reading comprehension is the toughest section to improve on. There really seem to be few tips/tricks that make a material difference and there is no content to be memorized.

IMHO, it may be worth focusing on another part of Verbal that you can more easily improve on (say SC, where memorizing rules could give a big jump in your score).

My impression is: if you let your concentration slip even a teeny little bit, you will hit the wrong answer.
Be careful about time, if it's the last passage, you are running out of time, better hit whatever looks correct and move on to remaining CR and SC. But this is just my personal opinion )
