730 and very happy

by benissleeping » Tue Jul 07, 2009 12:47 pm
Hi All. Just wanted to say a big thanks to beatthegmat for providing me with great strategies for the test and practice questions while at work.

My prep was a little unusual as I just used the OG books and the GMAT prep software. I also despite my best efforts failed to take one mock exam in timed conditions. Nevertheless I managed 730 first time round and am very happy.

Anyway my dissection of my prep and the exam are quite lengthy and so I have posted them on my blog https://possiblybestmbablog.blocked/

Thanks again

Congratulations on your great score...sounds like you are a natural test taker, so be glad. There are throngs of others out there that want to string you up right now out of jealousy because, alas, they are not quite as good at mastering these horrible concoctions. My advice now is to begin focusing in earnest on your application package. The GMAT is but one piece of a very complex puzzle that will ultimately determine whether or not you convince the adcoms at your top school choices tol provide you with a seat. Pretend you got a horrible score and therefore need the rest of your package to really shine....don't underestimate the amount of time you need to spend preparing the package and get someone to look it over, preferrably someone with an MBA. You could also get help from a consultant if you don't have access to anyone willing to give you advice. Again, congratulations and good luck.

nice one mate. you are very good at psychometric tests.

Can you share your preparation in more details. What I want is the unusual tips and mental checks that you had in mind.
