Verbal killed me + the worst score ever

by Koala » Fri May 13, 2011 5:48 am
Hello everyone,

I took my first GMAT yesterday and before I told you my score, these are my last test prep scores:
Quant Verbal Score
26/03/2011 GMATPrep1Bis 50 36 720
08/04/2011 PowerPrep test 49 41 730
10/04/2011 MGMAT 4 51 38 730
15/04/2011 Platinum 49 34 690
17/04/2011 MGMAT 5 49 41 730
25/04/2011 Princeton 51 37 730
03/05/2011 MGMAT 6 51 36 720
06/05/2011 GMATPrep2Bis 49 40 730
09/05/2011 GMATPrep3 50 38 730

I worked on ressources such as OG guides, CR Bible and MGMAT SC.

I was confident until I see my real score 670 Q50 V29.
The bad score ever and verbal was a disaster.

I will retake the test, but I don't know what to work on to better my verbal.
Also, I am not as confident as before because whatever good are my scores during the preparation, the real score is totally different.

Thanks for your advices.

The same thing happened to me last month. My result was lower than yours and my mock exam scores were even higher than those of yours. Don't get disheartened. Next round, you'll win!

It's amazing to me how consistent your scores are. It seemed like you would get about 720-740 from all your practice tests. I wonder what happened. Can you fill us in with a little more details. Also, why were you confident in your result before you clicked submit to see your score. Didn't you have any idea that you might not have scored as well as planned? Did you fold under pressure perhaps? I think I speak on behalf of a lot of us here when I plead for more info.
