Hello,

If you have stellar GMAT and GPA, an interesting slant to your career experience (i.e., being in IT can give you insight into particular industries or functions, depending on your role, or other interesting areas),a particularly strong career track record showing leadership and impact, and a solid extracurricular track record, you would be a viable candidate for top programs in spite of being in the Indian IT group - after all these schools do admit people from this group, but simply people who stand out within the group. The less you meet each of these criteria, the longer a shot it becomes. So the question you should ask yourself, and answer in your applications, is why these top programs should choose you compared to other people in this group.

Best regards,
