Hi
I am an engineering graduate from one of the top engineering colleges in India. I took the GMAT on 1 Oct 2010. This was my first attempt. I prepared for the exam for almost 2.5 months. I am very depressed by the low GMAT score 610 (Q 50, V 23).
Never in all my practice tests i got such a low score on verbal as i got on the actual GMAT. My scores on the GMAT prep were always above 700. I am unable to find out what went wrong in my verbal performance. I felt like i was doing well. I was confident when I choose the best answers. The passages were easy and I felt I comprehended the passages well. I was expecting to see a score above 700 but could only see a 610 and I was almost in tears.
Did anyone of the members or moderators experienced such cases?
I wrote all the free tests available and scored 640-680 in different tests with Q (48-50) and Verbal (30-35).
I practiced GMAT prep tests simulating the original test for almost 6 times and always got scores above 700.
I am disappointed and am planning to do better next time.
Someone suggest me something to come out of depression and I would be more than happy if someone could address my case and tell why my Verbal score was very less.
