Hello All,

I was wondering if you can help - I have just come out of my 4th GMAT exam, scoring a 610.. needless to say that I am not happy with this score.

The problem is that I really do not know how to improve - and please note I am not stupid.. I got a 3.5 GPA (taught in English - I am German) and I was among the top 10% of class during my A-levels.

Anyhow, I have been studying for 12 months now - I used nearly every material that is out there: Kaplan, MGMAT, Magush, GMATPill, e-gmat etc - I score around 690 with MGMAT and 700+ with GMAT Prep.

I am at a point now where I really do not know what the problem is - I assume it is the timing, as I double-check the Math section, something I should not do, but even in Verbal, where I think I got the right answer I end up with 32 in the real exam, while consistently scoring higher on MGMAT.

It might be psychological at this point, but I was hoping that someone could advise me on what to do? How I can figure out objectively what the problem is? And also please note I even had some sessions with a psychologist regarding test anxiety...

Even writing this sounds a little pathetic, but I do hope that someone has been in my shoes and can give me advice.

Thank you very much

Sarah xx

Hi sarah123456,

You're not the first person to have to retake the GMAT, nor are you the first person to get a bit psyched-out by the GMAT, so don't get too down on yourself. If you wouldn't mind answering a few questions, that will help assess your situation:

1) What is your goal score?
2) What school(s)/program(s) are you planning to apply to?
3) Are you on any type of deadline?

Your situation is not terrible (you're scoring above average), but you'll have to make some changes if you truly want to improve.
