like Vs such as...
choose "such as" so eliminate A and B

Now the dilemma is such high-paying as or high-paying such as.... If any one can throw some light it will be very helpful?

somewhere I read that when the effect is intentional then use infinitive form of verb (i.e. to make) and if it is unintentional but just and Cause-Effect then -ing form of verb (i.e. making)

so Chose D .

I don't think the issue is the placement of "such" -- both are valid. The issue is what happens with "make" -- "and" (choices B and E) results in Florida being the subject of "make", rather than the entire clause before it.

Hi,

After going through the explanations, I found it can be viewed bit differently.

I tried to narrow down the problem. In this question, the sentence can be formed as:

Florida will gain another quarter-million jobs this year along making the stake's economy far more diversified than ten years ago

C, E are eliminated

Now the issue is with usage of like / such as.

Since such as is appropriate in this case, D can be chose eliminating A and B.

Anything wrong with this approach?

Thanks,
Sandeep
