anybody experienced guide me through

hai i am starting my preperation for gmat. i have bought the following books
1.0g 11 ed
2.0g 10 ed
3.0g quant + 0g verbal
4.manhattan math guide
5.manhattan verbal guide
6.arco gmat cat ans to real essay questions.

i have 140 days just for my preperation. i can afford to read other books as well. i am self studying. so i need the best books available.
can any one suggest me other good books. i have heard and read reviews about the following books, itz as follows
1. manhattan sc-excellennt
2.kaplan 800-good
3.ez solutions gmat series(9 books) math- solid for quant

can anyone who has finished with GMAT have a say about the last 3 books mentioned. i need a perfect 800 in quant. may b 700 or 720 in verbal. damn serious to crack it. please HELP!!!

I can vouch for the quality of the first 2 books.They are excellent books, especially the MGMAT SC. Must have book. Dont know anything about the 3rd book.

If you are so serious to crack it, I would advise you to first KNOW what the GMAT exam is all about. You obviously dont have any idea. The GMAT is scored on a TOTAL of 800, not individual sections. Unless of course, you are preparing for the GRE. In which case, you have bought the wrong set of books.

Did you find out anything about the GMAT first? Or did you buy the books first??

i am new to gmat.. obviously have no clue.. i have done with my GRE.. i scored 1320.. 760(q) and 600(v). i am yet to go through the details of the format.. just have an idea that the syllabus for quant is almost the same.. but verbal is much easier as we need not remember all those arcane words.. can you tell me if the book set i have would be sufficent.. that would be helpful as i believe its important to read the right books..

So then why exactly are you giving the GMAT? Most people know what the exam is all about, know what's needed for it before buying books. you are going the opposite way. GMAT verbal is waay tougher than GRE Verbal. You may not have to remember words but critical reasoning and sentence correction has been the waterloo of many a candidate. Quant also is tougher.

The book set you have is sufficient for the most part. Try to get the MGMAT Sentence Correction Guide and you should be good to go.
