The programs you are targeting are among the most competitive in the world, so you have to look at your profile and ask yourself if you can compete with the best, brightest and highest performing students in the world for a seat? Your GMAT will need to be in the 700s not the 600s most likely, so you may consider taking a prep course to get there. Also, make sure you can demonstrate substantial leadership initiative, which means not just participation in activities or clubs. You will need to show that you have made a significant impact on the organizations with which you have been involved and hopefully helped to shape or create. It's not enough to be a good student and work hard. In order to get noticed at these early career MBA programs, you will need to be a true standout not only amongst your peers, but amongst everyone. These applicants are valedictorians, presidents of student body, patent writers, business entrepreneurs, international citizens, leaders in every way. Make sure you cast yourself as among them.
