HELP! Need to improve quant score!

by mgandier » Wed Oct 16, 2013 3:16 pm
I have been informed by the admissions of my dream school that I need to improve my GMAT score by 30 points. I took the test in August and scored a 620 (Q:39 --> 46 percentile. V:35 --> 75th percentile). Obviously I have a lot of room for improvement in the quant section. I plan to retake the test in January, giving me around two and a half months to prepare.

In studying for my first attempt, I used Jeff Sachman's Total GMAT Math as well as the books from Veritas Prep. I need recommendations regarding alternative quant books that anyone has had success with.

Again, I need to improve my score to 650, which I intend to do by improving my quant score.

Open to any suggestions!

Michael

Hi mgandier,

Improving your GMAT score by 30 points is actually a relatively straight-forward task and there are a number of ways to do it (and you wouldn't necessarily need 2.5 months either). I'm curious though if that's all that you're looking to do. If you raised your overall score to a high enough level, then you could be positioned for scholarship money. Either way, post back here (or you can email me directly) and I'll be happy to offer some suggestions.
