hi. i had thought of appearing for gmat last smmer i.e may 2008. and started seriously studing for the exam only in august. i started studing with the pearsons and kaplan review and the og 10 11 and completed it twice and also gave 4 cat exmas online with two from gmat prep.i had already booked a slot for 24 of november 2008 as the cut off date for my course was 30 november. i appeared for the exam on the 24. but scored 540, of which i scored very badly in the verbal section i think i got 45 percentile there.the cut off was 700 could not even get near that. got very much dejected and could not concentrate on anything for somtim. now slowly i have started studing again. i am planning to appear again by july. i guess last time the schedule was very tight. i wanted some guidance on the strategy for the preparation i can spare abt 4 hours a day. i work so have to somehow mak that time. pls guide me with the schedule for appearing for gmat in a more comfartable and confident manner.my resources are OG10,11, pearsons, kaplan 800, og verbal , kaplan review.

i have to score the magic number this time help needed. thanks...

What is your score breakdown? Which area are you weakest in? Did you study before you took the exam previously to earn the 540 score, or did you already prep for it extensively? If you provide more details, people will be able to help you out more.

With just the information that you posted so far, what it comes down to is really just dedication and practice. You have the resources that you need in the form of the books, so work through those, and remember that it's about QUALITY, not quantity, when you're studying. What I mean by this is, try to take the time to analyze each problem and really understand why you're getting the problems right or wrong.

Good luck!
