You are sill uploading the files to a different servers. Its better you directly upload image with the post as an attachment....

Coming to the question...
|x-y| = |x| - |y| if and only if both x & y have the same sign, you can check the results by plugging in some values...
|x-y| > |x| - |y| if and only if x & y are of different signs.
