Should I file a complain?

I just went to the test center in Hong Kong. I basically got kicked out. The staff in the test center basically told me that I am not supposed to be there before the test, and if I want to look at the test environment, I can just look it up on the website. Then I was looking around in the lobby, the staff told me that I cannot stay there, because students come and go in this area.

I kind of understand the security issue, and I respect that. However, I thought visiting test center is a very normal thing for GMAT takers. I pay 250 bucks for the test, of course I want to do the best I can. Also, I can't even look around in the lobby?? This is not acceptable to me.

If you were me, would you file a complain?

Wow, I can't believe they treated you like that? When I took the GMAT, I stopped by a few days before my test and I was free to roam around the lobby.

I would file a complaint. Sorry that happened to you, but thanks for sharing that experience with us.

Honestly, I wouldn't file a complaint. Yes, you were probably treated rudely. However, rules are rules: it's true that you aren't allowed in the testing center unless you're taking your test at that time. Plus, it didn't affect your score since it wasn't your actual test day. I don't really see what filing a complaint would do.

It is normal to visit the testing center; however, technically, visits need to stop when you get to the door. I think the "visit the testing center" strategy is more to ensure that you know how to get there, where to park, etc. etc.

Anyway, I hope the actual test goes a bit better!

Yea...I've got a response from the Asia pacific customer service today. Basically they say visiting test centers are not allowed due to security reasons. Not sure why this rule varies across other regions.
