Is m+z >0

Is m+z >0

1) m-3z>0
2)4z-m>0

1) m>3z - INSUFF cant say much about m or z
2) 4z>m - INSUFF can say much about m or z
combining the two

3z>m>4z, so z has to be positive because 3z<4z. and since z is positive, m also has to be positive.

Hence C.

Is the way I have solved right? Is there any other approach to this problem

OA is C

Nope!

sum of the 2 inequalities is

m-3z + 4z-m > 0 => z>0

now m>3z (from 1) and 4z > m (from 2)

so 4z >m > 3z (now adding z to the inequality)

5z> m+z >4z >z > 0

thus m+z > 0

Hope this helps!
