1. X is normally distributed with means 42 and standard deviation 6. Find
(i) P( x < 35)
(ii) P(X > 44)
(iii) P( 40 < X < 52)



2. The average number of acres burned by forest and range fires in a large New Mexico county is 3,600 acres per year, with a standard deviation of 600 acres. The distribution of the number of acres burned is normal. What is the probability that
(i) between 3,500 and 4,100 acres will be burned in any given year
(ii) less than 3500 acres will be burned

Normal Distributions are NOT tested on the GMAT.
