by neeraj_99 » Tue Oct 23, 2007 10:22 am
Hi all GMAT buddies;

came across a prob. in GMATPREP which gave a sum table a 3*3 matrix, sorry not able to reproduce here; they asked the value of m+n; could any other buddy come across it; I was totally stumped, couldn't get any clue; pl. throw some light on this type of prob...i mean summation table; thanx
Hi friends ! Just started GMAT prep. Hope to share thoughts, experience, joy and agony of GMAT prep journey.

Whats a summation table? Do you mean a magic square (a square where numbers are place non-repeatingly and all rows and columns must add to the same number)?

I had the same question in my GMATPrep test. Had no idea what it was then but looked it up on the net. Here is a link to the addition table and multiplication table.- just search it on the net.

Its really quite simple to solve if u know what it is

thanx but not enough info to help

thax buddies 4 ur resp....visited the links but no help on the real one...the problem had 4*4 matrix containing 4 variables x,y, m,n ..not enough equations to solve for m+n; it asked the value of m+n

i'll try to re-produce the prob later on

I think that I understand what you are saying but I'd have to see the actual problem to know how to solve it. Likely there is some trick (ie some set of variables cancel out when adding equations).

Would be really great if you could post the problem along with the figure, this will help all of use in trying to understand it better.
