From statement 1, c < a + b + 5
So, 2c < a + b + c + 5
From question stem, a + b + c < 0, (a + b + c + 5) < 5
So, 2c < 5
So, c must be less than 5.
Statement 1 is sufficient.

From statement 2, a + b + 5 < 0
So, a + b < -5
This is not enough to conclude whether c > 5 or not.
For example, consider the following two cases,
  • (a + b) = -8 and c = 4 < 5
    (a + b) = -8 and c = 6 > 5
So, statement 2 is not sufficient.
