In a multiplication game

by ska7945 » Sat Oct 04, 2008 4:28 pm
In a certain deck of cards, each card has a positive integer written on it. In a multiplication game, a child draws a card and multiplies the integer on the card by the next larger integer. If each possible product is between 15 and 200, then the least and greatest integers on the cards could be

(A) 3 and 15
(B) 3 and 20
(C) 4 and 13
(D) 4 and 14
(E) 5 and 14
let's beat GMAT.

Answer is C

as per question-
to find the least integer whose product with next integer should be equal to or greater than 15 is 4*5. therefore 4.
now with POE, we have 2 choices only C and D.
Now to find the greatest number for which product with next higher integer should be equal or less than 200 is 13*14=182. Therefore 13.

So choice C is the answer.
