I've read on here in multiple places people recommending to others not to study the day before the test for various reasons like it won't do you any good, you're better off relaxing, etc. It seems to me though that if you're working hard for so long prepping and you have stuck to a strict regimen for a month or more why quit in the final minutes of the game. It seems like treating that final day like any other will help your timing be even more ingrained, and your brain be even more prepared for the following day.

Do you GMAT instructors have empirical evidence to the contrary??

I felt the exact same way. I studied the day before (in fact, I reviewed my SC notes in the morning on test day). I thought that this last review was pretty helpful :)

I think the focus is not to get nervous finding last minute gaps in your knowledge or burning out right before the exam....so I'd recommend reviewing your notes or doing some basic questions just to keep yourself primed for the test
