The first option does not tell you anything besides that AL drove 1 hr longer but 5mph less than Pablo. There are 2 unknowns.

The 2nd option tells you only about M driving 450 miles.

Together still the 2 unknowns are not solved.

E should be the answer.

M: 9 hr and 60 miles avg so total 450 miles
soo total 1050 miles left and two ppl A and P

Time by P = t (let)
Time by A = t+1

avg speed P = x (let)
avg speed A = x-5

now
dis = speed * time

1050 = tx + (t+1)(x-5)
Two unknowns and single equation
