Ok, if u notice the 3 points make a right angle triangle with the right angle being at Q ... the hypotenuse is RP which is equal to root( x^2+y^2) ..

So the total distance to be traveled is y+root(x^2+y^2) .. (y being the distance between Q and R )..

now it is given that the speed is z miles/hr ..

also distance = speed*time

So the time taken = distance / speed = (y+root(x^2+y^2))/z .. which is C ..

Answer is (y+root(x^2+y^2))/z
