The answer is B.

We need this value => { y/x + (40-y)/1,25x } / { 40/x }.

stmt 1: this gives x=48. If we put this value in the above expression, we get {(y + 160)/240 } / 40/x. This will not give the answer.

stmt 2 : this gives y = 20. If we put this value we get { 36/x } / 40/x.

Which sure does give the answer.
