Hmm I think my answer is going to be C. Adapted sounds as though it means they are no longer adapted. I think present continuous might be the better one...

Please let me know if this is wrong.

Thanks.

The correct idiom is 'adapt ... to' so eliminate A and B.

In C, 'tree life' refers to the life of the trees.

D awkward, it repeats the verb adapt

Remains E, the wordy, the longest, but the only correct choice.

Sulabh, can you please dig a hole on our ignorance and let the light of the OA iluminate our ideas.

Though I had a confusion between (B) and (E) but I will go with (E).

A) --> Awkward Construction
B) --> Changes the meaning of original sentences (trees for life....)
C) --> Being + Passive Voice + Awkward Construction
D) --> Not Parallel
E) --> Not concise but correct.

Hence, IMO (E). What is OA?
