Hey varun289,
here you nee to make sure, that your answer contains a main clause.
This is not the case with A, C, and E
With D you get a sentence that is not parallel (the "of" before new farming techniques is missing).
D should be the right answer.
Regards

The actual meaning of the sentence is "changes in agriculture" = "introduction" + "substitution" and the "known as the agrarian revolution" part is non-essential.During the eighteenth century, widespread changes in agriculture, known as the agrarian revolution, involving the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields, of new farming techniques and crops, and the substitution of commercial for subsistence farming.varun289 wrote:hi bose u right but now my question why wrong C ??
yes it is x of ,,,,and of and Y
A. revolution, involving the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields, of new
farming techniques and crops, and
B. revolution, involved the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields and of new
farming techniques and crops, and
C. revolution, which involved the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields and of
new farming techniques and crops, and
D. revolution involved the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields, new farming
techniques and crops, and of
E. revolution that involved the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields and new
farming techniques and crops, and of
C does this "revolution" = "introduction" + "substitution", leaving the "changes in agriculture" part incomplete.
Hope I am not confusing you !

In A, C, and E, widespread changes (subject) lacks a verb.varun289 wrote:During the eighteenth century, widespread changes in agriculture, known as the agrarian

and crops, and the substitution of commercial for subsistence farming.

D. revolution involved the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields, new farming techniques and
crops, and of
E. revolution that involved the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields and new farming
techniques and crops, and of
The result in each case is an incomplete sentence.
The required verb here is involved:
Widespread changes INVOLVED the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields.
Eliminate A, C, and E.
In D, the following list is not parallel: the large-scale introduction of enclosed fields, new farming techniques and crops, and OF the substitution...
Eliminate D.
The best answer is B

Choice A uses "involving" which should be replaced by "involved" as we are talking about past. In answer choice C, use of "which" is redundant. In answer choice D, use of "of" in the second arm doesn't make sense. In answer choice E, use of "of" in the second arm doesn't make sense. Hence, the answer is B.
