What's Wrong in the Stimulus???

The OA to the question attached herewith is (E). I am unable to understand why the original sentence is wrong in first place? Kindly explain...

Unlike a funded pension system, in which contributions are invested to pay future beneficiaries, a pay-as-you-go approach is the foundation of Social Security.
(A) a pay-as-you-go approach is the foundation of Social Security
(B) the foundation of Social Security is a pay-as-you-go approach
(C) the approach of Social Security is pay-as-you-go
(D) Social Security's approach is pay-as-you-go
(E) Social Security is founded on a pay-as-you-go approach
Unlike A system, based on B, C system is based on D - This is the main context of the sentence.

A is wrong because it changes the meaning. A's construction is similar to this one

Unlike A system, based on B, D is the foundation of C system - The two items compared are not similar, we should compare the two systems. Hope this helps !!!

IMO E.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

Simple explanation :
What is unlike funded pension system ?
Social security system, right - So we have to have that next to

The comma has to immediately be followed by some system, in this case the Social Security. So, E is the only choice left.

Hence, E!

Your point noted, but I can see the attachments in my system and can also quote in their presence, so I attach the question. I use Google Chrome in Windows Vista OS. What's your config?

Windows 7, google Chrome. Its not about you buddy, but about the visitors, those who doesn't have a btg id or those who haven't logged in. They cannot view attachments. And about the quoting option - The picture won't be available in the response.
