4) Pat, Kate, and Mark charged a total of 162 hours to a project. If Pat charged twice as much time to the project as Kate and 1/3 as much time as Mark, how many more hours did Mark charge to the project than Kate?

Ok so let pat have charged 6x hrs of time , then kate would have charged 3x hrs of time and mark would have charged 18x hrs of time ...

So the totla time charged is 6x+3x+18x= 162 .. that is 27x=162 ..so x = 6 ..

So mark charged 18*6 = 108 hrs and kate charged 3*6 = 18 hrs of time ..
that means mark charged 108-18=90 more hrs than kate ...

Coulnd't figure out that 1/3 as much time as Mark meant that pat is X and Mark is 3x. Would've thought Pat was x and Mark as 4/3x.
