17. In the formula w= p/(square root of v)^t, integers p and t are positive constants. If w =2 when v = 1 and if when v = 64, then t =
(A) 1
(B) 2
(C) 3
(D) 4
(E) 16

Question 17 section 1....i get the answer A but the actual answer is c.

I am not sure if this question is very clear!

When v=1, w=2

Therefore, 2= p/t th root of 1

any root of 1 is 1, so p=2 -----(1)

when v=64, w=1/2
From (1), p=2 which is a constant

So, 1/2= 2/t th root of 64

t th root of 64 =4

3rd root of 64 is 4, Hence t=3.

C
