C. because they have
D. because of having
E. because it has

I would go with D.......whats the OA?

E wrong because of it
C wrong because awkward
A and B wrong because we need a reason and because is the right word to be used

if u try to understand the meaning of the sentence then its easy to pick the OA C...see the sentence says...2 things

1st:-

The National Museum of American History owns Harley-Davidsons of various vintages

2nd:- is answering why The National Museum of American History owns Harley-Davidsons of various vintages???

so this part has to be start with because as this part is representing the reason for the first part...hence on account of is wrong. The pronoun THEY in Op C is correct as it refer to Harley-Davidsons only unlike Op E which uses sing IT that illogically refer to National Museum suggesting that National Museum has evolved into an American touchstone.
