(A) to lead to 55 percent more delays at airports, and prompts
(B) leading to 55 percent more delay at airports and prompting
(C) to lead to a 55 percent increase in delay at airports and prompt
(D) to lead to an increase of 55 percent in delays at airports, and prompted

IMO E.

"55 percent increase" is better to use than "55 percent more".

Hi Paes,

I think the answer should be E. It properly states that an increase of 55% in the delays at airports. However, B states 55% more delay at airports.

Viju
"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group

I don't think its the meaning. If B and E are both grammatically correct, then we are forced to choose B since the original sentence is also using "more".

IMO E

I guess the meaning plays a vital role in choosing between B and E

B says there are more delays... as though the number of delays are more

E says the delay time increases...

given that surge in the number of flights has clogged the air control traffic system.. and safety is being compromised (y? bcos the flights have to travel fast to make up for the delay).. we can arrive at the fact that the delay time is increasing.

Thanks Jadeja, krazy

OA is E

But I am not filly convinced why E is better than B.

As Krazy wrote :

leading to 55 percent more delay at airports and prompting -> looks like delay is countable

But see the following :

Rony is more beautiful than David. -> more is fine here,

Can somebody put some more thoughts on this.

Well....E is preferred to B.

E says that there is increase in the number of flights that are being delayed or affected.

whereas B says that the time of delay has increased by 55%........but time of what????? one flight or all the flights...nothing is clear....

This question tests the logical meaning.
