Rounding off the integers !

Hello there,

Could anyone guide me on the technique of rounding off the integers to the nearest ten's integer or the nearest integer? I often get confused if I need to round it off for numbers when the last digit is more than 5 or less than or just 5. Please explain with an example.

Hi,

I assume you have seen one of the tougher MGMAT problems. Rounding up is simple.

If the last digit is greater than or equal to 5, then you round up the preceeding digit by 1.
Example - 2.67 is rounded up to 2.7

If the last digit is less than 5, then you round down the number
Example - 2.44 is rounded down to 2.4

yes Anuprajan, my question comes from Manhattan advanced problems and also from OG 12 :)

How to round off 4.55. If I get it right, it should be 4.6

Be careful with this because 4.45 rounded to the nearest integer is 4.
