this is how I would approach:

1) w=1, x=0, y=1, z=1
1/2 + 0 + 1/8 + 1/16 = (8+2+1) / 16 = 11/16

Suff

2) w=1, x=0, y=1, z=1
1/3 + 0 + 1/27 + 1/81 = (27+3+1) / 81 = 31/81

Suff

IMO D. This question seems straight forward.

Stmt1: 8w+4x+2y+z=11. We know that W,X,Y,Z are either 0 or 1. So, the only possible option is when w=1,x=0,y=1,z=1. Sufficient

Stmt1: 27w+9x+3y+z=31. We know that W,X,Y,Z are either 0 or 1. So, the only possible option is when w=1,x=0,y=1,z=1. Sufficient
