not sure if this helps answer it "quick" but combine like terms

mn = 3(m+1) + n
n(m-1) = 3(m+1)
n = 3(m+1)/(m-1)

as long as n fits the restriction of being an integer by placing each answer as m then we have a valid ans

a) int
b) int
c) int
d) non-int
E) int

so d is the ans
