Substitute the values and solve it,
2(1)^2 + (-2) [x+y]=0
and (1+(-2))(x-y)=-1(x-y)=y-x

Put the known values in the equation:
(2-2)(x+y)+(1-2)(x+y)=-1(x-y)=y-x
