In Q1, statement 2 is not correct. Pls check it again. Is it 0.25 < y < 1.0?

Thanks!

Q1. Is x > y?

1. 0 < x < 0.75

2. 0.25 < y < 1.0

Explanation:

(1) No info on y. So, NOT SUFFICIENT.

(2) No info on x. Again, NOT SUFFICIENT.

Combining (1) and (2), If x = 0.74 and y = 0.50, then x > y.
If x = 0.74 and y = 0.90, then x < y. So, x may or may not be greater than y.
So, combining also is NOT SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is E.

I have used the picking number approach here. Using statements (1) and (2), have taken random values of x and y to check if x > y always. But picking random values within the given range it can be seen that x > y is not always true.
