Hi all, i have taken today my first GMAT Prep CAT 1 with 20 days of the 60 days of study guide on my shoulders and scored 410 Q23 V22.
is that bad??
What perplexed me is the fact that i almost scored equally in both section even though i have not studied for the verbal yet (i'm not native english).
"statistically speaking" how much room for improvement do you think i have if i'm going to have the exam in 50 days??

Although your Quant score of 23 looks about the same as your Verbal score of 22, your percentiles are different.

From the following table https://www.mba.com/the-gmat/gmat-scores ... means.aspx you can see that your quant score is in the 12th percentile and your verbal score is in the 27th percentile.

As far as room for improvement goes, you still have plenty of time to increase your score significantly. In the I Just Beat The GMAT forum, you'll find several accounts of students increasing their score by 200 to 300 points (here's a good place to start: https://www.beatthegmat.com/from-470-to- ... 90548.html)

Cheers,
Brent

Thanks Brent,
Well that guys must be some kind of genius or something ;)!! I don't really know i could i have done soo badly on the quant part, i practiced with the OG12 and on average i got 75% correct doing the problem the second time..
I don't actually know how the 60 days study guide is structured but from what i understood i'm about to start studying for the verbal (i'm at day 23). should i go for it or spend a bit more of my time on quant??
thanks a lot!!

The last 17 days of the Study Guide are devoted to strengthening any weaknesses (you can see the complete outline at https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide-outline), So, you could wait until then to work on quant.

Alternatively, you can work on quant now and resume working on the Study Guide once you feel more comfortable with your quant progress.

Cheers,
Brent
