Distance travelled by fan?

by moonlite » Wed Apr 22, 2009 4:09 pm
A point on the edge of a fan blade that is rotating
in a plane is 10 centimeters from the center of
the fan. What is the distance traveled, in
centimeters, by this point in 15 seconds when
the fan runs at the rate of 300 revolutions per
minute?
(A) 750π
(B) 1,500π
(C) 1,875π
(D) 3,000π
(E) 7,500π

Can someone please tell me how to approach this?

Thanks.

hey

we know 10pi is the radius...so circumfrance is 20pi

it rotates 300/sec...so 300/60 = 5 rotations/second

its rotates for 15 sec...so 15 x 5 = 75 rotations...and 75pi x 20pi = 1500pi.
