30 percent of the 150 employees in the sales department received a holiday bonus
This means that 70% of the 150 employees did NOT receive a holiday bonus
70% of 150 = 105,
So, 105 sales people did NOT get a bonus

70 percent of the 250 employees in the production department received a holiday bonus
This means that 30% of the 250 employees did NOT receive a holiday bonus
30% of 250 = 75,
So, 75 production people did NOT get a bonus

Total # of people who did not get a bonus = 105 + 75 = 180
Total # of people in the entire company = 150 + 250 = 400

Percent of all employees who did not receive a holiday bonus = (100)(180)/400
=
45%
= B

The double matrix system is really easy to do and visualize. You can separate the categories as PROD and SALES as the headers and put BONUS and NO BONUS in the margin. Then with the info fill in the blanks.
