Start OG after learning strategies?

by anniev2 » Tue Sep 23, 2008 5:10 pm
I am still in the process of learning the Kaplan's testing strategies.

Completed: verbal strategy, math review, problem solving strategy

Left to do: Data Sufficiency strategy and word problems strategy

:?: Should I wait until I am done learning all the strategies before I start working on the questions in OG?

I have not been so diligent in my studying and i completed the verbal strategies about 2 weeks ago. I figured that I understand the strategy and that I will learn to implement it best when I start the OG questions.

Definitely, the problems in the OG are a little useless if you don't know how to approach them. You might have seen already that a lot of the explanations in the OG aren't necessarily the easiest or fastest way to do many problems, especially in math. I definitely advise you to get comfortable with your test prep strategies, tricks, and concepts first, and THEN practice using them on OG problems.

Good luck!
