Devastating score. Need help !!!

by reachdestiny » Sat Oct 09, 2010 6:49 pm
Need some advice from you all to help to get at least 680+ in GMAT. My goal is to join Top 10 US B-School in fall 2011. I started my GMAT preparation starting April 2010 and aggressively prepared for 4 months. Took my GMAT on 29th July 2010 and shocked to see 500 (Q-47 V-14). As you can see, I did great in MATH but terribly failed in VERBAL. I even scored 5.5 in AWA. I am again planning to take around November 9th and attempt to give it a shot for 2nd round MBA admissions.

I attended Princeton review course and thoroughly went through OG 12 and Manhattan Series. I am very poor in RC and CR type questions. To improve my reading skills, I subscribed Economist and ready it for last 2 months. I badly need your advice and please recommend some study plan. I am willing to put 4 hrs a day and weekends 12-16 hrs for next 4 weeks.

Appreciate your advice and help. Pls let me know some strategies in VERBAL, study plan and any study notes or articles to go through. Also let me know what books to go through.

well,
if i were you,
I would read manhattan Sentence Correction book...
Read and interact in verbal section in forum(see what you might have answered ....and what was actual answer....and why you made an error..... as considering 47 in quatative it seems that you have talent and it is just that you are not habituated to gmat english ....it was your bad day and you were tried....

Well for me,reading economist for RC will be last option .You have done all other things(read books, know all the rules...) and you feel you still have some room for improvement....otherwise...it will be just distraction and wastage of time for now ....and gmat english and normal english are not same thing....
so better read good SC prep books...(manhattan recommended...and take princeton verbal review as well)
Download notes and tricks collection by forum users...
and keep on taking question .....

i will that will be help ful
GMAT score is equally counted as your GPA and 78 clicks can change you life.
