Ques - On a certain road 10 percent of the motorists exceed the posted speed limit and receive speeding tickets, but 20 percent of the motorists who exceed the posted speed limit do not receive speeding tickets. What percent of the motorists on the road exceed the posted speed limit?

Answers - 10.5%, 12.5%, 15%, 22%, 30%. Thanks :)

i guess the answer is 12.5

Let's say total number of motorists is X and total number who exceed spped limit is Y.We are looking for Y/X

its says 10% exceed the speed limit and caught and 20% though exceed but dont get caught.. hence 80 exceed and get caught as well.

thus it implies 10%X = 80%Y there fore Y/X = 12.5%

let me know if the answer is right.
